Heidi Klum born Bergisch Gladbach Germany 1st June 1973. Erna Her mother was stylist. Gunther Kum was a manager for an organization that dealt in cosmetics. Heidi's Dad was earlier a production supervisor for the 4711 company. It was in Bergisch Gladbach she was born and was raised. Bergisch Gladbach is only six miles from Cologne. Her past life was as a model from Germany and America who is a television host, producer and fashion designer. Klum's career as a model began in 1992 while she was a barmaid working in the Dusseldorf club. Her friend (Karin) advised the young student of 18 to participate in the German TV talent show dubbed Model 92. The German women's publication Petra sponsored this talent show in conjunction with Thomas Gottschalk's talk show. Klum competed against thousands of contestants from across Germany and Europe until she became the third semi-finalist. The winner was awarded $300,000. modeling prize in April 1992.
